4 Templates for User Research Recruitment.

Do you need to recruit research participants?

Please don’t just ask anyone to test your prototype.
Your research participants should meet the demographics of the project you’re working on.

You don’t want to sit at a coffee shop and ask a bunch of random people to test your prototype without knowing your ideal test user.
Otherwise, you’re getting feedback that holds little value from people that would never use the thing you’re testing. :/

You need to reach out to the actual people that would use or benefit from your product.

Please don’t just ask anyone to test your prototype.

One great way to do this is to call or send an email to potential research participants inviting them to provide feedback.

Here is one great example:

Hi {{first_name}},

My name is {{your name}}, a {{User Experience Designer}} at {{ UX Forward }}. We're currently researching {{our feedback feature}} and would love to show you a sneak peek.

We are looking to {{make the feedback feature employer-focused}} and would love to hear your feedback on our possible designs.

If you're interested, please schedule 30 with me using this link:

Thank you,

We have created 4 email scrips that can also be used as a phone script to invite potential research participants to research sessions. You can check them out on our Tools page.
